Updating Existing Workflows
Overview
Push updates to Workflows you've already published without losing your existing audience or breaking shared links.
When you improve a published Workflow, you can update it in place rather than publishing a new one. This keeps:
- The same URL and shareable links
- Existing likes and view counts
- Your Workflow's position in search results
You update from a successful run, not from the canvas graph alone. Any successful run from the past 24 hours can be used — yours or a teammate’s.
How to update a published Workflow
- Open the published Workflow in your canvas.
- Make your changes (add nodes, adjust settings, etc.).
- Run the Workflow successfully.
- Click Publish in the top right. The publish popup will open.
- Choose the same destination as the existing Workflow:
- Publish to team for a private team Workflow.
- Publish to Community for a public Workflow.
- Choose a successful run from the past 24 hours:
- My Runs — runs you created.
- Team Runs — successful runs from anyone on the team.
- Click Continue.
- Select Update Existing Workflow and pick the Workflow to update.
- Review title, description, tags, and other details, then confirm the update.
The new version replaces the old one while preserving the Workflow's identity. The selected run is what gets published: its graph, settings, and the assets used in that run.
If you are updating a Community Workflow, all assets used in the selected run become publicly available. That includes input images, videos, audio, LoRAs, and other files referenced by the run. Floyo copies them to public storage (community_inputs and community_models).
What gets updated
Updated | Preserved |
|---|---|
Workflow nodes and connections | URL / link |

Update vs new Workflow
Action | When to use |
|---|---|
Update | Bug fixes, improvements, minor changes |
New Workflow | Completely different approach, major redesign |
Tips & best practices
- Test before updating. Run the Workflow successfully before pushing an update, then pick the run you want people to see.
- You can use any successful run from the past 24 hours — it does not have to be the most recent one.
- Note major changes. Update the description if functionality changed significantly.
- Communicate with users. If you have an audience, let them know about important updates.
- For Community updates, double-check that every input and model in the selected run is okay to share.
Troubleshooting
No eligible runs in the publish dialog? You can only update from successful runs created in the last 24 hours. Run the Workflow again, then reopen Publish.
Update Existing Workflow is unavailable? There must be an existing Workflow you can update at the destination you selected (team or Community). If none appear, publish a new Workflow instead, or switch destination.
Old version still showing for users? Updates may take a few minutes to propagate. Ask users to refresh or clear their cache.
